Outside Agency Form
How we support partner agencies
Thank you for using this form to report a potential loan shark on behalf of someone you know.
We actively try to contact those who are at risk to let them know there is help available.
The England IMLT are always looking for partners to work together to support those borrowing cash from loan sharks. Read more about how we support partner agencies.

This #StopLoanSharksWeek, we’re focusing on how people can take back control.
Illegal lending depends on confusion, fear and silence - that’s how loan sharks keep people stuck.
When people get the right support, the rules change.
That’s how we make it #GameOverForLoanSharks.
If you’re worried about an illegal lender - now or in the past - support is here.

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week this week. To mark it, we’re highlighting the devastating and often hidden impact illegal money lending can have on mental health – and reminding people that support is available.![]()
In 2025, one in three people supported by Stop Loan Sharks said they had considered taking their own life. Many were driven to extreme distress by threats, harassment and fear - often after borrowing from someone they thought was a friend. Almost all told us they experienced pressure or intimidation.![]()
But there is a light at the end of the tunnel.![]()
People we supported told us:![]()
“A massive weight had been lifted.”![]()
“I felt reassured and never pressured.”![]()
“Please take that step - don’t let anyone put you off.”![]()
We’re not just here to investigate loan sharks. We support people however we can, working with debt advisors, housing providers, local authorities and other partners to help people rebuild their lives.![]()

Loan sharks often start by acting helpful - offering quick cash with no paperwork.
But behind the friendly move is a dangerous game designed to trap people in debt.
