Stop Loan Sharks launched a campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of loan sharks in Biddulph.
We worked with Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and Staffordshire Police to distribute leaflets door to door and to school communities, beer mats to local pubs, all supported by a social media campaign #standuptoloansharks.
Our work in the area led to Biddulph Town Council, along with local agencies, signing a charter to pledge zero tolerance to loan sharks.
Councillor Mike Bowen, cabinet member for communities at Staffordshire Moorland District Council, said “We are pleased to support ‘bite back’ week as loan sharks spell nothing but misery for those who borrow money from them.”
Sergeant Pete Slinn from Staffordshire Moorlands Local Policing team is encouraging residents in Biddulph, or any area, to seek help and support if they are in a difficult financial situation.
Stop Loan Sharks are here to help and get people away from loan sharks. Our team are available 24/7 on 0300 555 2222 or complete our secure online reporting form to report an illegal money lender.
